Chip has been with San Diego Gas & Electric for 24 years. He has a broad range of experience holding positions in the Distribution Engineering,
Customer Service, Regulatory and Marketing Departments at SDG&E. Chip has been with the Savings By Design program for 10 years, as an Account
Executive, Supervisor and now Manager. He also sits on the Board of Directors (Treasurer) of the Collaborative for High Performance Schools
(CHPS), a nonprofit organization promoting the design of high performance schools in California. Chip is also a member of various professional
organizations and has B.S. degrees from the University of Washington and University of Phoenix.

Norma Cox
Program Manager
Norma Cox joined the Savings By Design team in 2001, bringing with her 6 years of DSM experience as Financial Analyst for the Energy Efficiency Residential and Nonresidential programs in SDG&E’s marketing group. She is responsible for supporting the planning, developing, and implementing of marketing for the Savings By Design program. Her responsibilities include regulatory documentation and reporting. She is also responsible for working with SBD energy representatives on internal policies, procedures and contract verification and approval to insure energy savings. Norma has prior experience with SDG&E’s Graphic Operations, Financial Performance Support and Corporate Business Planning and Budgets groups. Her educational background includes attending Southwestern College.

Peggy Crossman
New Construction Representative
Peggy Crossman has over 20 years of experience in promoting energy-efficiency and demand side management, with an emphasis on residential and commerical new construction and building code programs. Prior to joining SDG&E's Savings By Design team, she served for 3 years as a Program Policy Advisor for the Savings By Design, Sustainable Communities, California Energy Star New Homes, Emerging Technology, Rebuild a Greener San Diego, and the Codes and Standards programs. Her previous experience includes several years working with State and local governments and large commercial and industrial customers as a utility account executive in the Pacific Northwest, and 15 years at Bonneville Power Administration, where she was responsible for designing and implementing a wide array of residential, commerical and industrial energy-efficiency and DSM programs. Peggy graduated with a bachelor's degree from the University of Washington in Seattle in 1978.

Bob Nacke, P.E.
Senior Engineer
Bob Nacke’s primary responsibility is to assist design teams in selecting energy-efficient design options for their projects. Since joining SDG&E's Savings By Design team in 1992, he has performed energy simulations on hundreds of commercial and residential buildings. His recommendations are based on more than 21 years of experience in the heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) profession, including HVAC design and consulting on energy issues. Nacke spent four years as a military design engineer before joining the private sector to perform studies on government facilities. He also spent several years as an in-house engineer at a local computer manufacturing facility. Nacke is a licensed mechanical engineer in the state of California and a member of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers.

Chuck Poindexter
Senior New Construction Representative
Chuck Poindexter brings 27 years of experience in commercial energy analysis, customer relations, and project management to the Savings By Design team. Previously, he served as an energy consultant at SDG&E, conducting energy audits and helping business customers convert to energy-saving lighting and mechanical systems. He is a former member of the Design Review Board for the City of Escondido. In addition to his responsibilities at SDG&E, Poindexter chairs several committees for the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers San Diego Chapter. Chuck also serves as a board member on the California Commissioning Collaborative representing San Diego Gas & Electric.
Poindexter graduated from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education and earning a teaching credential in secondary education.

Dan Schweizer
New Construction Representative
Dan Schweizer joined the SDG&E Savings by Design Team in August of 2006. He has a B.S. in Professional Aeronautics from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University. Before joining SDG&E Dan was an AH-64 Apache Attack Helicopter Pilot in the United States Army, as well as a background in technician and engineer recruiting. As an SBD representative, Dan works with building owners and design teams to facilitate in the development of energy efficient design for commercial projects, resulting in cash incentives and energy savings.

Craig Bullock
New Construction Representative
Craig Bullock has been with SDG&E for 27 years. Prior to joining the SBD team he served as a Customer Project Planner where he spent five years in the design, costing, and coordination of residential and commercial distribution projects. From there Craig was promoted to the Major Projects team of the Company where his responsibilities were to work specifically with large developers on the installation of gas and electric distribution systems for new major construction projects in the Eastlake Chula Vista area. Craig brings to SBD a vast knowledge of commercial construction design experience having had the opportunity to work in concert with and oversee the implementation of electric and gas facilities for developers, electricians, engineers, and architects within the SDG&E service territory. Craig’s educational background includes attending San Diego City College.

Lianna Rios
New Construction Supervisor
Lianna Rios assumed her role with SDG&E's Savings By Design program in 1999. She is responsible for assisting building owners, tenants & design teams in designing high-performance buildings, using an integrated design approach to achieve maximum results in efficiency. She is also instrumental in promoting SDG&E's new Sustainable Communities Program, which encourages ultra-high performance buildings, sustainable development and promotes green building design practices in SDG&E's service area. She began with SDG&E as a program manager responsible for communications efforts, as well as planning, designing, and implementing trainings and events. Lianna holds a bachelor's degree in business administration with an option in international business from California State University, Fresno.

Marianne Sy
New Construction Representative
Marianne Sy joined the SDG&E Savings By Design team in March 2005. She holds a bachelor's degree in business administration with an emphasis in marketing and finance from the University of California, Riverside. Prior to joining the SBD program, Marianne worked for SDG&E's Major Markets department analyzing energy usage and generation for many of SDG&E's largest commercial accounts and has been instrumental in providing trainings and process improvements within the department.
Before joining SDG&E, Marianne worked in both the marketing and communication fields and at one time worked as a recruiter for New York Life. As an SBD Account Executive, Marianne works with building owners and design teams to facilitate in the development of energy efficient design for commercial projects, resulting in cash incentives and energy savings. She is a volunteer for San Diego EarthWorks and is an active allied member of AIA, San Diego Chapter.

Virginia
(Ginny) Vaplon
Administrative Assistant
Ginny started with San Diego Gas & Electric in 1998 as a receptionist
for Marketing Field Operations. She joined the Savings By Design
program as administrative assistant in 1999. Her duties include
administrative support for the SDG&E Savings By Design
team and Sustainable Communities program. Prior to working at SDG&E, Ginny was an administrative
assistant for the City of Poway. She attended Fresno City College.

Roger
Yamasaki, P.E.
Senior Engineer
After graduating from Loyola University of Los Angeles in 1972 (now
known as Loyola Marymount University) Roger Yamasaki built up more
than 20 years of experience in mechanical engineering working for
the Bechtel Power Corporation, Westec Services, and as an independent
consultant serving the utility industry. He joined the Commercial
New Construction program in 1995 providing technical support for the
Savings By Design Program performing energy simulations for new commercial
buildings, reviewing building plans for energy saving opportunities
and incentives, and working with designers to implement energy savings
measures.
