Steve Herfert
San Gabriel Valley
Steve Herfert joined the Savings By Design team in 1999, bringing
with him over 21 years of experience in customer service, project
management, and engineering review. His expertise in energy efficient
technology and his ability to transform ideas into solutions mix
well in the design of new facilities. Prior to joining the Savings
By Design team, Steve was the lead auditor on SCE's technical audit
team. His broad expertise in lighting and mechanical systems offers
customers practical and innovative solutions. Steve is a member
of Baldy View BIA, International Council of Shopping Centers, and
SCE's Speakers Task Force.

Dave Holly
Inland Empire
Dave Holly has recently joined the "Savings By Design" team as a technical specialist. He brings over 25 years of experience as a consulting engineer in Electrical and Mechanical systems design to SCE with a focus on energy efficiency and conservation measures. The Industrial and Commercial projects Dave has been responsible for has required extensive knowledge in lighting, power distribution, HVAC, refrigeration, and control systems integration. In the past, Dave has performed energy audits, building simulation modeling, economic evaluations, and has implemented energy efficiency and conservation projects through out Southern California.

Karen Klepack
South Orange County
Karen has been working in sustainable design and with utility energy efficiency programs since graduating college in 2000. During her career, she has worked as a consultant and as a representative for the Savings By Design program at two of the State's four Investor Owned Utilities. As a consultant, she performed energy audits and building energy modeling. She also worked with building owners and their design teams to implement energy efficiency into their projects, as well as to participate in LEED certification. She has used that experience to transition into the utility arena, working as a rep for the Savings By Design program since 2002, both at Southern California Gas Company and at Southern California Edison.
Karen holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Western Michigan University. She is also has earned CEM and LEED AP professional certifications.

Rosemary Lieberman
Santa Barbara/Ventura Counties
Rosemary brings over 20 years experience in working with the energy efficient construction of educational facilities.
She has relocated here from Sacramento where she was active in both the Association for Energy Engineers and the
Association of Professional Energy Managers. As an architecture candidate at Cal Poly Pomona, she specialized in
energy conservation. She completed her BA degree in Public Administration at Cal State Northridge and possesses a
certificate in Educational Facilities Planning from UC Davis. Prior to joining SCE she worked as a private
contractor for PG&E and as new construction/modernization energy design consultant for numerous school districts
statewide. Rosemary is an avid proponent of sustainable design that is cost effective and energy efficient for the
individual customer’s needs.

Cameron McPherson
Orange County
Cameron brings a diverse blend of residential and commercial construction experience to the Savings by Design team, along with a dedicated focus to help both the customer and environment. Before coming to Southern California Edison in 2005, he was a facility manager for a high-tech company, where he gained valuable insight into the commissioning, operation, and maintenance of the very same systems and equipment we recommend in Savings By Design. He is a member of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) and the Association for Facilities Engineering (AFE). Cameron graduated from the University of Southern California in 2000 and has since earned a Certificate in Project Management from the University of California, Irvine.

Charlie Nadig
Inland Empire
Energy efficiency and commercial new construction are familiar concepts to Charlie Nadig. As a Mechanical Engineering graduate from the U. S. Merchant Marine Academy Charlie acquired a practical, hands-on approach to mechanical efficiency. He spent 7 years as an engineer aboard oceangoing ships. Charlie received an MBA from S. F. State University, which led to an 18 year career in the HVAC field. Energy Efficiency opportunities opened up in 1991 when Charlie became a Project Manager with PG&E in San Francisco. Soon after leaving PG&E in 2005, Charlie joined Edison's Savings By Design team. Charlie is also a member of ASHRAE and of BOMA-Inland Empire.

Harry Pemberton

Harry has a mechanical engineering background and a strong Account Manager and Sales Engineer history, formulating technical solutions for critical flow control systems to companies such as AES, LADWP, bp/ARCO, Chevron & ExxonMobil. Harry's previous work experience included Nuclear Power Plant Operator at Southern California Edison's San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station in San Clemente. Harry possesses a broad knowledge of California's electricity industry, SCE's rates & tariffs, direct access and bundled service market, energy services & products, energy efficiency incentive programs, and customer care skills. Harry is a Past Chairman of the Los Angeles Section of the American Nuclear Society, and a Fellow in the College of Fellows at the Institute for the Advancement of Engineering.

Doug Campbell
Manager, New Construction Services
Doug has over 20 years of experience that includes mechanical design, project management, manufacturing process and technology, and
product development and marketing. Doug has a degree in mechanical engineering from North Carolina State University. In Doug’s prior
role at SCE, he was responsible for product development and management for SCE’s billing and payment options, and also led in
development of the company’s customer strategy. Prior to joining SCE, Doug worked for Itron and was responsible for development
of automated meter reading solutions for the gas industry. Doug is a member of the US Green Building Council – Orange County
Chapter.

Dan
brings a wide range of experience from 35 years in the utility business.
During that time, Dan was recognized as an expert in several diverse
technical fields, including managing a cutting-edge engineering
laboratory. Dan believes working with customers to find and apply
cost-effective, energy saving features to new construction projects
as one of the most challenging and rewarding assignments he’s
experienced. Dan has a Bachelors of Science Degree, in Industrial
Engineering, from California Polytechnic University, Pomona, and

George, P.E.
Program Engineer
With over 30 years of engineering, construction, and electric utility
industry experience, Saad brings a solid background in new construction
and energy efficiency projects for commercial, industrial, institutional,
and government entities. His extensive experience in project management
allows him to interact effectively with clients, consultants, contractors,
and vendors. Saad holds a BSME degree and a Master Degree in Mechanical
engineering from New York University and is a licensed engineer
in the State of California.

Anthony Ray Hernandez, P.E.
Program Engineer
Anthony is a registered Professional Engineer in California and is a lifetime member of the National Electrical Engineering Honor Society (Eta Kappa Nu - Zeta Theta Chapter). He has a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from Cal Poly, Pomona and is near completion for his Masters Degree in Engineering Management from Cal Poly, Pomona. He brings a wide range of Engineering and Project Management experience with him to SCE, including Codes and Standards training, enforcement, and design review - as well as - the Project Management of Building and Safety facility projects for Los Angeles County Department of Public Works. He also has a wide range of electrical design experience in residential, commercial and large industrial facilities. Diane
McLean, AIA
Program Architect
Diane is a registered architect in California and Nevada, having
earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Architecture from Cal Poly,
San Luis Obispo. She brings to Southern California Edison more than
20 years of architectural Project Management experience, with projects
ranging from residential, commercial, and industrial buildings to
large institutional and governmental building complexes, including
hospitals, universities, and civic centers. Her career has focused
strongly on sustainable architecture, energy efficient design, and
environmental influences on human health. She specializes in daylighting
design and advanced lighting technologies and teaches classes on
these topics through the CTAC educational programs. In support of
the Savings By Design program, Diane offers assistance to the "whole
building" projects and manages the Energy Design Resources materials
and training.

Program Manager
David Jacot manages all non-residential new construction energy efficiency programs for Southern California Edison, including Savings By Design and Sustainable Communities. David has 10 years of building design, energy modeling, and project management experience. David is also overseeing development of Edison's pilot portfolio of water-energy programs, which seek to save the energy embedded in water upstream and downstream of water users by promoting water conservation.

Baumgardner
Program Management
Shelley Baumgardner brings 11 years of experience with energy efficiency
programs at Southern California Edison to the management of the
Savings By Design and Energy Design Resources new construction programs.
Her focus on the smooth day-to-day administration of the program
guarantees efficiency beyond just energy issues. Shelley holds a
Bachelor's degree in Finance from California State University at
Fullerton.
